Nitro PDF

Nitro PDF is boasts as the first free PDF reader in the world. Nitro PDF is an easy to use freeware that allows users to make, alter and read documents in PDF format. It's currently only compatible with Windows PCs.

CutePDF

CutePDF is another free PDF application that can easily convert document to PDF format as long as it's converted using a Windows OS with printing capabilities. And recently it has been upgraded to be Windows 8 - compatible too.

PDF 24 PDF

PDF 24 PDF allows users to create and edit PDF documents. Files can also be secured with a password and document properties like the author's name or filename can be edited, and consolidated or even separate a few pages from a multi-paged PDF file.

PDFForge

PDFForge can create PDF files from any printable program which can then be sent thru email. It also gives the option of password protecting PDF files and even denying printing and editing of PDF documents. Its defining feature is the ability it gives authors to sign their documents for additional protection of the file.

doPDF

doPDF is a free PDF software that does not need GhostScript to create PDF files from any printable file type and size saving disk space upon set up. It is available in 33 languages and supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows OS.

Nuance PDF Reader

Nuance PDF Reader allows user to open or view PDF files and even convert them to Excel, Word and RTF formats. Users can also underline texts, add comments, highlight and collate all comments added for easy access. Viewing embedded movie files right within a PDF is also one of its unique features.

PDF Lite

PDF Lite is simple and totally no-cost software that lets users read PDF documents and convert any file types such as Word or Images to PDF. It is available in many different languages including English, Japanese, French and Spanish.

PDF Core

PDF Core users can view PDF files, edit file properties such as the title and author's name, collate or split PDF files, convert PDF to Image, Word or TXT formats and Image to PDF. Passwords can also be removed and added using PDF Core. Hard copies of documents can be scanned too and saved as a PDF format.
